About CoRank

We're on a mission to make medical training suck a little less.

The Problem

Building a couples rank list is super stressful.

You're already dealing with the anxiety of interviews, the pressure of performing well, and the uncertainty of where you'll end up. Then on top of all that, you have to figure out how to merge two completely separate rank lists into a single couples list that somehow optimizes for both of your careers AND your relationship.

The math is surprisingly complex. With just 10 programs each, you're looking at 100 possible combinations. With 15 programs each? That's 225 combinations to evaluate. And each one needs to be weighed against factors like commute time, cost of living, program prestige, and what matters most to you as a couple.

Our Mission

We're mission-driven to limit the stress of medical training wherever we can.

Medical school and residency are already hard enough. The sleepless nights, the constant studying, the imposter syndrome, the debt. If there's something we can do to make even one part of this journey a little easier, we want to do it.

How It Started

We thought building the app to solve this puzzle would be a fun side project.

Turns out it was a surprisingly challenging (and expensive) proposition. The algorithm optimization alone took months to get right. Getting accurate commute data and cost-of-living information required integrating multiple APIs. Making it actually usable and not just technically correct took even more iteration.

But we built it because we've been through the couples match ourselves, and we know how much it would have helped to have a tool like this.

Who We Are

We're just a few residents trying to make the process suck less. We've been where you are. We get it. And we hope this tool is useful for you and your partner as you navigate one of the most stressful decisions of your medical career.
